So much better than the first in the trilogy

Totally different from the first book, I found this faster paced, more interesting, and far more up to the hype of the disappointing first in the trilogy. The last few chapters in particular were hard to put down. There is a shock twist, and an ending that totally hooks - now I absolutely have to read the third and last volume. If only the characters didn't have to keep eternally drinking coffee, eating sandwiches, and "sorting their thoughts out in their head." One more quibble, I gave up trying to sort out the huge amount of minor characters coming onto the scene from all sides.

an interesting diversion on the first book

As stated above, this was an interesting diversion from the first book, it almost seems as though the first book was not really part of the trilogy at all, although this does provide a lot more background whilst leading onward to the third book.A good read, I'm never fully sure what I think of Larsons writing style, sometimes it is a real page turner, other times I struggle to motivate myself to pick up the book.All in all, I enjoyed it.

This book bought as a gift but was somewhat taken aback at the condition of the book. Presents as almost a compacted edition - lines on the page go right to the edge of the page and the book looks "clumsy". Didn't have time to return but have put note of apology inside the book for the recipient.
